A plethora of research has shown unequivocally that people sense the physical presence of
another person in the room. More specifically, there is clear data indicating how quickly stress
and anxiety felt by hospital patients due to feeling lonely or abandoned dissipates when
patients receive visitors. I have yet to find any research showing whether hospital patients
care or for that matter even notice the getup of anyone who is kind enough to visit them.
Pointing critical fingers at the First Lady for her attire while she is taking out precious time to
visit sick patients is not only absurd, it speaks to the twisted priorities of those leveling
criticism at the First Lady. People feeling scared and vulnerable care that you care … they do
not care what you wear!
